I just want to spread the word that the Razer Deathadder respawn is a pile of crap.

I have had it probs 18months and the left click has stopped working properly which is the worst thing in the world for a mouse.

I have cleaned it and its back the same within a week

To me thats a pile of crap design for a mouse - old cheapo nasties work perfectly for years this is 18months in and messign around

Had mine for about..well i guess a couple years now. No problem at all. My housemate's had his original deathadder way longer.

I might suggest pebkac on this one, or you just got unlucky :)

EDIT: although i'll definitely give you overpriced! :p

Is a common fault look it up - done the fix as suggested, worked for a week

I am not a happy Billy Bunter - problems razor keyboard 3 of them, now problems mouse - never buy from them again - pile of crap

i broke one them in a day too, i didnt care tho bcos was too big for me
i think their QC is just bad, and for what they charge thats not really forgivable
but then same could be said for most these gamer mice
you get good and bad ones

ellis its usually the cable or a bad solder inside, id just return it if you can tho

i dont think its unlucky, they should just test/care more when charging what they do
viper/diamondback were good mice, i still have one them somewhere
the cables broke on heavy use tho, that was my 2nd one

i sub for a team that is sponsored by razer, hope i dont have to go to a lan with them bcos then i might actually have to use some their stuff :o

my copperback took a hammering but still worked perfectly and this death adder has had a fair amount of use - not abuse.

I work from home so its my everyday mouse - i dont get time to game anymore so its not hammered there as well as work - it did get 100+ hours of skyrim

I do think that a mouse button not working intermittently is poor and if you have ever worked using a mouse like it is terrible - you end up typing all in the wrong place or you have to repeat clicks on things several times..... I have nearly smashed it up several times today.

Its unacceptable for a near £50 mouse - my dad has one that cost £5 thats about 8 years old - its an old laptop one i gave him years and years ago - its crap but it still works the same today as when new.

I hear that. Until I recently picked up a Fireglider, I was using a £5 Mikomi that's been accidentally dropped on a hardwood floor easily over a hundred times over the last 5 years and that little sucker refuses to die.
Still works perfectly.

My Razer Naga needs cleaning once a month (Contacts) otherwise the click gets mushy and hard to double click with. I don't have sweaty/dirty hands, it just seems to collect dust under the buttons.

Unfortunately that's the way Razer has been for the last few years, they churn out dozens of models a year without proper testing or refinement. If you want quality go for a Logitech mouse, if you want the flashy looks then stick with Razer and suck it up.

** Please fully star out swear words ** happens. But regularly... I've had a lot of 'luck' with Logitechs (MX510, still going strong after donkey's years, MX518 and illuminated keyboard enjoying retirement at my workplace). And to be honest, with other manufacturers. Qpad, Zowie, Corsair... but Roccat is a shamble. Now if you thought Razer QA was bad, try Roccat.

But the "double-clock" issue with Razor mouse haunted lots of users for years (I had a Microsoft Habu which was basically a Razor)...it is clearly either design flaw, or simply poor quality.

My copperhead's right click failed after around 18 months.

That was around 2 years ago, after that I have got a Roccat Kone. Too this day I do believe that I am the only person in the world with a fully functional Roccat Kone v1
and i will run it until it dies because it's one of the most comfortable mice that I have ever had the pleasure of using.

I've had that with some mice, Intellimouse explorer 1.1. I had a G500 that developed a squeak. My brother says it's fine. Double clicking has been reported regularly with other mouse designs. At the end of the day, the buttons are the more fragile parts. mechanical, and regularly submitted to the almighty force of a stressed out gamer feeling the pressure. I suppose it could be a design flaw, hence the emphasis on gaming mice on their click durability and so on. If you are rather brutal with your mouse buttons (like I am), then maybe different actuators and design. If not, then the mouse is probably just not good enough.

You probably are! A shame isn't it, it' a fine mouse, but the QC is atrocious. My mouse wheel is in pieces, and I broke one of the tab for the weight compartment.

My original razer diamondback finally gave up after 7 ish years recently , i managed to temporarily fix it by gluing a tiny piece of paper to the bottom of the shaft that comes from the left mouse click that connects with the clicker, it seems that the clicker has worn away the shaft just enough so that it wouldn't connect any more which is a shame.

Decided its about time to change out mice anyway and got a Logitech g400 a month or so ago fantastic piece of kit.

u should have it in ur will to be put on a plinth, so others can admire it long after you are gone!

i duno about roccat never had one but razer spend more time on their packaging than testing their mice out for sure
anyway im happy with my overpriced zowie mico, its simple, i dont think it will break, its a nice color! matching mousemat! what else do you need :)

I stick to Logitech these days after some dodgy Razer mice.

My Deathadder was misbehaving after about 9 or 10 months with the RMB having problems and the LMB double clicking on single click, that sort of thing.

I've had a steelseries original wow mmo mouse since release and it has been amazing, the surface/coating has come off a fair bit, but in fairness to it, I do use the poor thing all day at work, then take it home and use it until I go to sleep, it's been great! Highly recommend steelseries peripherals :D
