Im thinking of getting either the 660Ti but some review have said its pretty much the same as a 670 but with a few thinks shrunk down or missing. Should i just go for the cheaper 660Ti or go all in for 670?

At that price you may as well just get a 7950.

Depends if AMD is an option.

Jafooly: If you aren't locked in to Nvidia then you can just get so much more power for your money by not locking into Nvidia.

If you are locked in for whatever reason - PhysX, 3D, monitor etc - then 660Ti is still a good card allbeit slightly overpriced for what it is.

Hope that helps.

Yeah ive been looking at the 7950's just and for the money they do have more to it, im quite attatched to nVidia cards though for the PhysX and the fact that quite a lot of game are optimized for them. Have to have a think about it. Cheers for the help guys.

I'd suggest going 7950. The 660ti is nice, but too expensive. It need to be sub £215 to put it in line price/performance-wise.

I wouldn't base a buying decision on Physx because although it is a very cool bit of kit no developer will cut out half of their potential market by using it for any more than the odd realistic flag in the games which make use of it.

I'm not sure how far into the game I am at the moment =/ I've made it to Opportunity with no slowdown thus far, how far is that?

I have the msi 660ti and it is great on the newer games like battlefield and borderlands 2 and these games at 1080p max settings its not far off the 670 at all.

But in older games that chew up memory like alien vs predetor the 660ti dops behind and also with the 660ti you wouldn't want to go higher than 1080p.

With the 660ti it is worth paying an extra £10 to get the non-reference models as they are 15% more powerful at stock and then even more when over clocked.

Me and a few friends all have the msi 660ti and really like it but just so you know it needs overclocking to to run games smoothly at max settings 1080p without any drops.
I have mine running at 1300mhz core and 7200mhz memory which is pretty high as the reference models only run at 970mhz core and 600mhz memory.

I was reading on a website the other day and they was overclocking them by over 40%

If you can afford the extra £60 get your self a gtx 670 but I am sure if you plan on using it at 1080p you would be very happy with the 660ti

Checks Calender to see if it's not April.

I've got 2 670's and I'll tell you now Borderlands 2 and even BF3 aren't optomised for NVIDIA. Maybe single cards are fine. As for PhysX :D

I think you are misunderstanding the kepler boost a little. The quoted 980MHz boost is just the guaranteed minimum. Reference 660TI cards boost to around 1100MHz, and the overclocked models boost toaround 1200MHz.

So you can say your core speed is about 18% faster than a reference card.

I think i might get a 660Ti then, the KFA2 3gb one though, as its got the most memory, i have a 1gb 560Ti at the minute, and it runs fine but i want to upgrade if i want to start playing more demanding games at full spec. Would the 660Ti with 3gb of memory be able to do that? Im new to all this PC gaming stuff by the way, which is probably why I might be asking stupid questions.
