i7-740QM processor any good for gaming?

It has a low clock speed of 1.73Ghz but is quite expensive. is it to slow for gaming? when used in conjunction with a GTX 460M GPU

Oh good So I shouldnt let the processor put me off. will that combo play games ok?

Sandybridge/Ivybridge. They're newer generation CPUs so it does more per clock compared to the 740M with a lower power usage.
