Scott Mills, his show always seems upbeat and gives me the occasional laugh - exactly what I'd want on a miserable hour commute into work - especially this time of year!

Radio 1 to me just seems to be 80% chatting (usually about complete nonsense), 5% advertising their own shows and the remainder music; it rarely stays on during drives, and I often fall back on my own CDs.

Not sure if I'm the target audience at 31...

Wasn't overly fond of Moyles, although he was occasionally mildly humourous. Only heard Grimmy once - when he was standing in for Greg James (somone else I don't find very entertaining). Thought he was dire. Certainly won't be tuning into the breakfast show to listen to him.

I miss Chris Moyles. Really cant stand Grimshaw.

Agreed.

'Grimmy' isn't at all engaging, seems very nervous and not very good with the desk. I know Moyles was an absolute radio geek so got really into how it all worked, but that's how it should be on the biggest shows.

Radio 1's target audience is 18-30 but their average listener is 32 so either they aren't targeting very well or Radio 2 need to be a bit more current.

It isn't. Their key demographic is much younger than 30. The BBC trust states up to 29 where the median is 30, but the supposed key demographic is only up to 24.

i miss moyles. have tired radio 2 but as already said the playlist there makes me feel like i should be on my deathbed!

ended up at capital just through lack of choice (its terrible) but at least the playlist is more what i want to hear...

anyone got any other suggestions??

True that. Also he had good chemistry with Dave, Dom and Aled. I remember sitting on the bus, almost having to jam my fist into my mouth to stop myself laughing outloud and embarressing myself. The banter they came up with was just that funny!

Good times. Good times :(

An iPod.

Only one close to Moyles is Scott and its such a shame he missed out. I listen to the daily podcast every day and it always makes me laugh. Grimshaws voice just bores me

I stopped listening to radio years ago, because I can't stand ****wits who think they are more important than the music that they play. You're not, so shut up.

The irony is I would have actually listened to Scott Mills. I mean hes no Chris, but hes a massive step up from Grimshaw.

Scott turned down the position (as per insider info). He has only just moved to the lunch time slot too - plus he will happily cover Breakfast, but he didn't want it permanently.

The other plan was to have Fern and Greg hosting the Breakfast show together, but with her going on mat leave in Feb (i think its Feb) and with Greg being relatively new and only just gaining the drive time slot he again turned it down - or was ruled out.

I defo know that Scott turned it down tho...

I'd have preferred Greg got morning and Scott got back drivetime then, hell I'd have preferred anything but this in mornings. My wife has a theory that they are mentioning One Direction in every link to drive people away, I can't work out if this is their plan or just the way it's happening.

I sortof resent Grimshaw for the implication that he was brought in to capture a younger audience, which is a little unfair I guess. I always preferred banter over music which I think is the opposite of what the BBC want for the breakfast slot (as demonstrated by Grimshaw's mandate to play twice as much music as Moyles).

That being said Moyles was up his own a***
