Wifi only. As for nexus vs ipad, I dunno really. I have an old ipad, the very first one that I bought on a whim and never really used much at all. It's been sat in its box at the back of a cupboard for the last 6 months and I can't remember the the last time I used it in anger. I've always had android phones so coming to the nexus 7 is a very natural transition. I find it very intuitive to use and typing on it is a pleasure.
I can stream films and music straight off my media server to it, I'd much rather use this than my laptop for forums as it's so much more versatile, lugging the laptop around the house just isn't an option now I've got this.
In terms of what it can/can't do, it's mostly the apps as you've said. But everything I would use it for is x-platform so that isn't an issue.
Main pointer as mentioned is the size, itmeans it fits in my jacket pocket so it's very convenient, and easier to hold one handed if you are travelling. Although it's wifi only at the moment, they will be releasing a 3G version in the near future.
Based on my experience the screen on the Nexus is better quality than the iPad 2, but not 3 obviously![]()
Well, I have the iPad 3 64G 4G (or 3G lol), and frankly I think I need the 3G otherwise it'll just be a portable tablet just for viewing movies on the go as it is time consuming to convert movies to Apple compatible format. I assume the Nexus can play Avi natively?
Other than that, I use the iPad on the go to go online almost exclusively, at home I am on my iMac to work anyway…the geek in me want to try the Nexus out and even though it is "only" £200, it is £200 that I won't make use of.
