Hacked off with T-Mobile - need recommendations!

Hi guys,

I'm totally hacked off with T-Mobile now after 2 years of being a customer due to them messing me around with my iPhone 5 pre-order. I pre-ordered a while back online, and whilst waiting for my phone to be dispatched, I was told by one of their stores that I could collect my phone in-store but I would need to let T-Mobile know over the phone that I no longer needed them to dispatch via the post. I cancelled my postal order (in the understanding that it could potentially take 30 days to arrive anyway) and then went in to store to pick up my iPhone. Once in store, I was told that all the iPhone 5’s had been allocated, and that what I had been told on the phone was nonsense – basically.

So at this point, I was £150 down.. no phone, and no expectation of receiving one! I was asked to pay a £25 deposit to submit a ‘new pre-order’ which I did in store the same day, and to wait for my £150 that I had previously paid as an upfront phone payment online to be refunded. Now £175 down, I waited for my phone. After endless calls to my local store, it appears as if they don’t know how to answer a phone and my ‘pre-order’ has now turned into a ‘new order’, meaning I am treated as a new customer and won’t receive my phone for a long while yet. This completely contradicts the idea of 'pre-ordering' which I did so that I would get the phone as near to release as possible - which obviously is now not happening. What annoys me the most is that I have had no phone-call or email from them giving me an update to say what the hell is happening. Not to mention their terrible customer service.

To cut a long story short, I'm looking for a different network and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I initially chose T-Mobile for their good network coverage and their fast data speeds (HSPA+) which I pretty much got anywhere I went – I can’t fault them for that, and previously their customer service wasn’t too bad either. Recently (and I know this is because of the iPhone 5 release), I have been waiting on the phone for 20 minutes before I have even been answered, and then a further 10-15 minutes to be seen once my call had been diverted to the correct department.

I’m fed up of this now and my opinion of T-Mobile has dropped significantly. Can anyone recommend me a network with the best coverage in terms of both signal and mobile data (fastest possible speeds) and good customer service?

Would be very helpful!

Adam

The best network doesn't exist otherwise the rest would be out of business. If you want this sorted write a letter to the exec office, you'll be given priority treatment and everything will be made right. The network with best signal coverage doesn't exist either as it's down to where you live. I can tell you the network with the best CS isn't 3 through, I don't think even they would deny that ;)

Never had any trouble with T-Mobile myself. The only time i had to contact them i did by there twitter team, which seemed to get answered rather quickly (maybe because tweets are visible and its in there best interest to look good?)

Drop them a tweet and explain what happened, they might be able to help?

Good idea - I didn't even know T-Mobile had a twitter feed. I'll see what they say, thanks :)

After having some serious ordering issues with orange, I switched to t-mobile. It's been pretty faultless since upgrading from my desire to htc one x, Ive kept my 3GB cap and now my speed has gone from 4Mbps to 11  which is more than enough for me :). Every network has a load of bad reviews but I think t-mobile or three is prob the best bet out of the lot.

Email/write a letter to their CEO address. Be polite but firm, you'll get credit. T mobile are the best of the bunch imo.

Do they support HSPA+ and if so what is their coverage like? I thought it was mostly 3G?

I have had over the last few years t-mobile, vodafone, and 3, they all support H+ and I had it all most all the time, t-mobile had the slowest speeds of them all, and at times 3 can be stupidly fast, getting between 12-14mb. Vodafone is also a very good 8mb+ most of the time for me. All this is in London for me.

Personally think the best offer is 3 which offers you for £34 500mins, 5k text and all you can eat data. Also think there should be some nice quidco.
