Muse - Put the Dubstep down and back away.

:o embarrassed to say I do quite like it. I still think it could do with more oomph.

:edit: I would really like to see a video compilation of hardcore oldskool Muse fan's reactions to Follow Me @ 1m45s :D
:edit2: No doubt it will be insanely stomping live... dat bass.

I'm trying hard to place this album. But then i'm odd according to most Muse fans:

Showbiz > OOS/Absolution > BHAR/Resistance

I think 2nd Law is better than BHAR/Resistance, I just can't place it against the other three. I think more listens are in order. :D

Wait what? You think it's better than BHAR?! You are quite mad.

I am still loving the album. Not such a fan of these yet but I'll try and drill them into my head..

Big Freeze
Liquid State
Save Me

Still to not like only 3 tracks of a 13 track album is still a great sign.. Well 12 if you dont include prelude. Its a great start for Survival though.

I want to shake you like a baby

Radio 1 Live Lounge today @ midday.

:edit: Sara Cox has a really annoying voice.

:Edit2: Why on earth are they playing Uprising? :(

:Edit3: Panic Station :(

:Edit4: Covered Prince - Sign o' the Times - I'm sure I've heard them do Prince before but I might be making it up

:Edit5: Not sure what I was expecting, and it's not like I don't like Starlight or anything, but jeeeeeeeesus man! It's like they've forgotten who they are.

I've listened to the songs they played on Jools Holland and it wasn't that I was unimpressed, its just that they have changed a little too much from their earlier albums, when I loved them. This, alas, will be the first that I won't bother buying.

Great band, just don't like their recent stuff unfortunately :(

The sound quality is pretty dreadful so this might only really work for the people who've seen them live, but this is what made me "get" Follow Me. Dom enjoys himself very much in this vid :D

They weren't that impressive on Jools Holland, Supremacy was ok but Madness just sounded terrible live, the other two looked pretty bored playing it.

At the end of the show they said watch the 2001 appearance on the website. Hyper Music, even in not great quality just blows the new stuff out of the water.

Agree 100%

i only listen to them now, for the great basslines.
They,ve become more and more pompous and too self indulgent with each album for me.

Yeah, but all seems quite tongue-in-cheek... I think they're having a laugh pushing things as far as they will go, which seems the opposite of pompous to me.

I'm not a Muse fan, but I love this Album... yes its overblown, but its great to listen too, and there are some subtleties here and there... its certainly not a cheesy as The Resistance, which I'm not keen on at all.

Supremacy sounds a bit Andrew Lloyd Webber when the vocal kicks in :D but I like it... Animals is rather Radiohead but good too...

I really like Unsustainable and Isolated Systems :) finishing the album off well.

I would give the album as a whole 8/10 and look forward to hearing it properly on disk :D

I've been a big fan of Muse since I first heard Sunburn on Radio 1 all those years ago. I've been listening to this album for the last couple of days, and I love it! I'm disappointed that I missed out on tickets to see them now :(.
