Asus GeForce GTX 690 4096MB PCI-Express Graphics Card [90-C3CHL0-T0UAY0YZ]

yes or No ?

Is there any pitfalls I need to know about?

I have a 480gtx amp. using it at 1900 x 1200.

do you think i'm wasting my money ?

Personally I think these cards should have come with more memory for the money. I know there's always something new around the corner, but I would wait and go for the next generation of cards.

If you are asking me im biased, I have 2 of them !

If you are happy with the asking price then yes they are great cards to use.

You may want to consider gaming @1440 or 1600p though.

Pretty pointless at 1900x1200 if you ask me, although you'll begood for a long time with a 690 ;)

I love mine bought a backplate for it also to pimp it up :) i whent evga for customer support and warranty (5yrs bought it 25 euros) never had one days trouble from it,dont overclock as i dont see the need tbh and i get PCIE 3.0 without running the hack for it.

I agree, if you go for a 690 then make SURE you get a nice long warranty with it for peace of mind (Asus tend to be crap in this regard though. This is my opinion and not the opinion of OcUK) :)

Which slots are you using there out of interest? Looks like a different configuration to mine. Love how tidy it is though, and the blue sleeving :)

@OP: I'd say 690 is probably overkill for gaming at 1920x1200, but you'd have peace of mind that you could run everything at max :)

I use slots 1 and 3 for the GPUs and the black PCI-e slot for the Revodrive.

Nice rig Kaapstad and I love those braided cables

Thanks.:D
