Meh that's the old sofa in my little study/office that I've had for years and hardly ever gets used :p

Pffft, no excuse! :p

Got this on Saturday morning, surprisingly only took a couple of hours to build and set up.

It's a DJI Flamewheel F450 with Naza flight controller, GPS unit is in the post already and just need to find a reasonably priced GoPro camera for it.

Now that looks really interesting... :)

As for my own purchases this month, here goes.

Only half mine, really, but it lives on my desk. :p

Temporary router. Ignore the bear.

New computer. All right, well, it arrived (mostly) this month...

Booze. The Echo Spring is actually not too bad, although I prefer Buffalo Trace and Bulleit. Haven't cracked the Laphroaig open yet, but if it's anything like the Quarter Cask stuff, should be awesome. :D

Would you mind posting a parts list please? :)

Edit: Never mind, just googled and it comes as a kit :p

Sure, not much to it though.

Flamewheel F450 kit (comes with DJI branded motors, ESC's and the frame/power distribution board). A DJI Naza flight controller, DJI GPS module, your own transmitter/receiver and some 3s 2200mAh + lipos.

It's this kit here: http://quadcopters.co.uk/dji-naza-f450-kit-inc-fc-161-p.asp, GPS module here: http://quadcopters.co.uk/dji-naza-gps-upgrade-358-p.asp

I use Zippy 3S 2200 and 2450 mAh batteries from Hobbyking, cheap but reliable.

Needed to solder the ESC's, battery lead and BEC to the power distribution board but that only took about 20 minutes, then about an hour to bolt it all together and get all the electronics where you want them and maybe half an hour to configure the flight controller via your PC/laptop.

First takeoff it kept flipping over despite me checking and double checking the motor rotations and blade direction, took it all apart again and put it back together and it's now perfect, had it hovering around the living room without any crashes and it managed to handle the gale force winds outside without much bother.

Is that a john west bear by any chance? :D

It most certainly is! My strangest Christmas present to date is a tin of John West salmon from my parents, because I wanted one of those so badly. :p

You're correct actually :(

I don't usually do that, I was just wearing them for a few hours to break them in a bit :)

Well I guess I can let you off this once. :p

Oh thanks, I was getting a tad worried there :p

And is the bear happy perched atop a router? Maybe he would appreciate a new home where he wouldn't be used to decorate electrical items? :D

I require a bear such as that in my life.

I see sadness in those eyes ;)

You can probably pick one up on eBay for a fiver or less, but obviously be careful. Some of the ones being sold on there don't look anything like they should. :)

Anyone wanting this one will have to prize it out of my cold, dead hands though! :p

New suitcase and wash bag! My old suitcase is knackered and I lost my old washbag! (don't ask :p) - traveling on Thursday so needs must! :)

Be warned it is very peaty and strong in taste

Some people like that though - I prefer the smoothness of the Speyside Whisky's though each to their own. :)
