This was Friday evening btw, so technically release day. How? I mean, you have to either be doing something really dodgy, or getting seriously lucky in an epic pack binge surely?!

Members of the England cricket team got the game early (with custom case covers ) and one was bragging that he spent some £300 on packs for UT.

Not saying its a cricketer but there's plenty of wealthy people who would spend insane .. because they can.

Have just started playing UT for the first time properly - have put together a cheap Brazilian nationality + league team (I think that is correct!). Chem is 96 due to a couple of players being in the wrong formation (should be 4-1-2-1-2). My team is all silver - if I put a few golds in, will that have any effect? Will I get matched against better players online etc?

Got a "rare" Ola John with 90 pace and a free gold packet. Opened the free one got Christian Atsu who has 92 pace! Could build some team around those 2!!

Third game I take a early 2-0 lead only for him to come back and make it 2-2 major rage! 88th minute I score! 3-2 to me.......93rd minute.......he scored 3-3 major rage.

So annoying. My defence just opens up like the red sea. How frustrating.

My defense is the same. Huge holes appear everytime an opponent comes forward!

anyone tried the iOS app for UT. Not impressed with it, it isn't remembering all my list and BIN prices.

The ulitmate app last year was far better. It might not have looked pretty but it just worked!

I've been playing on the PS3 and I cannot defend against the CPU at all, maybe my problem is that I am playing as Liverpool.

My free gold pack this morning had nothing notable. I never get anything decent in packs!

I'm selling my Swedish silver team. Lost about 5 in a row and I was playing much worse than I had been with my English Bronze team. I've only got about 4k coins and I'm struggling to sell the Swedish players so I guess it's back to the drawing board. I have no idea how some of you have hundreds of thousands of coins!

I can only play it through the game, and every time I start it, I have to enter a secret question and password, which is ridiculous.

I can't use the web app because when I do, it locks the account then I have to go on the console again, FFS.

I'm actually finding defending to be okay for me in this came, have managed to keep the score down in quite a few games, winning 1-0 or 2-0. I still get thumped now and then, but against someone of similar skill it tends to be lower scoring rather than higher scoring.

Im currently building a cheap french team, bought a gold back with the little coins i do have a pulled out that keeper that i have in the team now which was handy, any advice on cheap french players cant afford most of them in my formation so willl have to buy the cards at a later date.

What does it mean when player has a slightly darker card? For example, the normal gold players have a gold card, but some of them have a darker gold. Same goes for silver and bronze.

I need team ideas, I have a cheapo BPL team, planning to do another gold team & 2 silvers so I have 2 of each for now, anyone got any thoughts? Not looking to spend too much but also don't wanna go KFC bargain Bucket on the whole thing! Ideally in 41212 or 352, ideally 4+ skill attacking players, but 3 would be ok I guess! Generally at least 1 moderately pacey striker out of the 2.

Tempted to go do a Bundeslig team but never had much luck/enjoyment with/from them in the past!

My advice would be to sell the keeper and use the coins you get from him to build up your team. IF players like him, even relatively poor ones go for at least 10k, and with that money you could buy a better keeper (as even though he's IF he's still not that good), as well as improve your team overall.

As for buying position cards at a later date - this can prove overall more expensive than if you just saved up and bought the player in the right formation first time around. I know that in my preferred formation (4-1-2-1-2) I'm lucky to pick up formation cards for less than 4k each, so I'd need each player to be at least 4k cheaper in different formations to make it worth my while. It's more cost effective generally to just save up the extra coins and buy the players in the right formation the first time around.
