Ive just fitted a new coolermaster 100 dual rad watercooler, im wondering what are safe temps and if they sound correct.

Im hitting about 82C running prime at 4.4ghz, is this too much? The fan is on the lowest setting so i cant hear it

Should try and keep the 2600k in the 70's, preferably low 70's so it maxes around 70-74c. 82c is too hot.

Fans need to be at full speed if you're overclocking, thats why they're there.

Thats way too hot for 1.3v in prime95 imo, but a lot depends on your ambient. My measly coolermaster hyper tx-3 can keep it ~ 70 at that voltage and custom wc loop was around 55 with 1.33v.

hmm, tbh, its worse than my H50 I had although its on a Z77 board rather a z68. there are two sets of screws on Corsair H100, longer ones and shorter ones, the picture appears to show the shorter ones for 1155 but they dont look as if they would fit.

Utter rubbish, besides it would sound like a god damn jet taking off.

Sounds like a bad mount.
My 2600k tops at around 60c @ 4.5Ghz with a H80 running on low.

One thing I did notice when mounting is that there was some slight play between the backplate and the motherboard which seemed like a really bad idea to me.
Fortunatly I happened to have some small rubber washers handy which I fitted between the backplate and board.
That completely eleiminated the play I had and gave me a nice solid mount :D

A few others have noticed this problem as well so its worth looking into.

You are better off with Thermalright Silver Arrow if you are serious about sound level remain silent!

I seem to have a good mount, get a good impression, ive fitted some washers and it has improved things a little bit - temps only go to late 70's, one core touches 81/82 on prime, in games and such like its not really getting any hotter than 50C.

Im wondering if i should put a bit at the centre of the back of the mount as well as the screws
