but they did!

actually this is the second time, but anyway :p

they have toys reduced and i was looking for something for my nephew. They have £10 splattered everywhere, and i could have sworn that this was the prices after looking a few times. it was the amount off, the item was £15. only found out at the tills. still bought it, but they are sly so and so's the way they do this. i'm sure i'm not the only one caught out

anyone else been deceived?

Always read the label and prices and make sure the grams/ml match up. Tesco is very crafty with their pricing.

Sure watchdog pulled them up on it about a year ago and nothing was done.

I always check the receipt before leaving the store. Been to the service desk a few times to get a refund on stuff. They never believe you either, they always make you wait about for 10 minutes whilst some skivvie checks their wrongly put prices and computer mess ups.

Last one was their rustlers microwave burgers on offer at £1, yet they still charged me £2.80 each and I had 3 of them in the trolley.

Asda did this to me once - 3for2 beer promo at xmas. Plastered all over - 24 can packs next to the signs. Purchased 6 with my regular shopping. Got home, realised had paid full price - Phone store "Yeah thats the 18 can packs not 24". OK so why was the signs next to the 24 can packs? "We ran out of 18 can packs so restocked with those".

Store refused to give me the money back. Complait to head office resulted in a £100 card to use in store. So I went back to the store, had a go at the manager who refused the refund (he was aware of what head office had said), then proceeded to purchase another 6 crates of beer using my money, followed by 6 more the next day - did this until the money on the card ran out. He had a lil egg on his face.

I bought a duck from The Co-Op once, it had a big sticker on it saying £6 or whatever and similar signs around. I got to the till, paid my money and thought it was quite an expensive shop for what I had bought. Got it home and realised it was £6 per kg and the duck was around £14. Since then, I've become obsessed with checking price per weight/volume rather than the stated price.

Yeah happened to me in Sainsbury's last Christmas for a bottle of port labelled as £12. On my receipt, it showed as £20. I questioned it at their CS desk, showed them the drinks aisle and she said that £20 for that bottle was correct. Blooming nuisance customers not placing bottles back on the shelves correctly.

BDEE, post #5 - result!

If the price on the shelf edge was different to the price charged at the till Tesco have a policy in place to refund you double the difference(looks like it may have changed to just the difference now) but check your local store and note it only applies after you have bought the item.

It would have been worth checking, and considering you seem to have a habit of this then check it out next time the price is different on the til to what you thought it was on the shelf label.

have u ever looked at the price online vs in store vs at tesco direct kiosk vs catalogue.

I found a few thing that were different at each place in the same store.

They all do it, they just smack a 30% extra free or whatever sticker on stuff even if it's smaller and so works out more money anyway

So you got a gift card from the head office for the error (£100 no less), and then still proceeded to go to the store and have a go at the manager?

I'd like to say that's unbelievable but in todays Britain it doesn't surprise me.

I had already had a go at him - He refused to refund me. His head office did not agree. I see nothing wrong with talking to him again to make him realise the mistake he made.

Wait, it was you?

Did you ask for the original offer to apply to what you bought, or did you ask to return all your beer for all your money? If it's the former, then the guy was just following the rules rather than making a mistake. If it's the latter, then he's in the wrong.

I took my daughter food shopping in my local tesco and gave her a couple of pounds to buy a small toy. She wanted a small my little pony for £1.97 and when she went to the checkout they only charged 50p.

My local Tesco are always mis-pricing items and it's pot luck if you get a bargain on the day.

I had very good reason. They stacked packs by signs saying 3for2, which they were not. The signs did not say it was on a different size pack.
