Geil Black Dragon - any good?

Looking to get 16Gb of the Geil black dragon stuff.

Anyonme got it and is it any good?

Cant decide between 2x8Gb kit or 2 sets of 2x4Gb.

Currently running 4x4Gb of the OcUK value 1333Mhz stuff so my board handles 4 sticks pretty well. Its a tenner cheaper for 2 sets of 8Gb so im thinking thats what im going to get.

Had Geil memory in different builds before, never any problems.

Highly recommended.

I've had Geil ultra series 2 gb sticks running at 1900 MHz 7-8-7 timings for years now and not had any problems.

Mem arrived and 3 packs of Haribo - loaded XMP no probs, see to be working flawlessly.

Red LED's look nice if you have a ROG board

What volts are you using for 1600Mhz

Just to update i got a set of 2x8Gb and its running nice @ 1600Mhz 1.5v

Sorry for slow reply, yes 1.5v matey... Im considering just seeing if they will do 1866, i strongly suspect they will.

Haver you managed to tighten the timings on yours or are they running at stock 11-11-11-28?

I was just browsing Geils website and noticed this feature they have:

Might explain why my 4 Gb G Skill modules died within a month (not all ofc, prolly just one and I got them refunded and went back to my 2 Gb Geil Modules).

i threw 16gb of the stuff in a A6 build, no xmp went straight to 9-9-9-28-1T 1600MHz w/o me setting any thing up O_o
