The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Just over £40 off ebay, and fully working bar a slight dent on the 50mm filter thread

Are you sure that the knock that the DRev 24-70mm took that damaged the filter thread wouldn't not have decimated the Tamron? And with regards to your insurance comment; I doubt it would be advisable for people to adopt the ethos of purchasing equipment with cheese like build quality, and to use it with disregard for it's welfare just because they are insured?

Polycarbonate is generally more impact resistant than metal. Metal will deform, polycarbonate will flex but not shatter like offer plastic and is resistant to deformation.

I don't know of ANY dslr or lens with cheese like build quality, except maybe the Canon nifty fifty.

Prefer the silver one and seriously tempted to get one myself. Really looking forward to seeing the results from that mate.

They close at 7pm? Which is early for a store that size.

Seriously, I know they are a family run business but in an economic climate like these, who closes for 2 weeks in the run up to Christmas? They must be doing well!

50/1.2, but I saw online its cheaper for the Far East anyway but I just want to pay the a visit. I wanted to go there like kids want to go to Disney.
