55 Inch Tv's

So its basically between these two, both support dnla and mkv so can play movies from the htpc via wifi or cat5..

Cant really see why the samsung would be any better other than the 3d glasses it comes with..

Looks like KDL-55HX853 does best out of the 55"s in my affordability. Only problem being that it wont support mkv, thats where the htpc comes in. I cant think of any issues in the htpc driving the tv in terms of quality or sound..Am i missing something?!

You could try to get them to price match a Samsung 8000 series and it'd be only £250 more (less if you factor in the free tablet).

The 8000 series is of no benefit, the picture or sound quality isnt reported to be as good as the Sony and im not into all the glitz of waving my arms at a tv or having a web cam built in..

I've not compared to the 6 series myself but I'm certain I've read reviews stating the 8 series looks much better than the 6 series.

But doesnt have as good a picture quality as the Sony, nor has such a high refresh rate - for console gaming etc..
