Y'all obviously don't know the stories about Jobs. He was a nasty piece of work, a complete *******. There were probably some very happy apple employees when they found out he died.

Anyone old enough can remember when Bill Gates was an ******** too. He wasn't always throwing all that money he has at starving people.

I can't understand how people could feel so strongly for this man.

Essentially all I see is a successful CEO who dedicated his life to creating user friendly tech for the masses. Why that makes him significant in the slightest is beyond me.

This reminds me of a news report one year after Saint Diana died and one old woman was balling her eyes out saying to camera

"I cry every day for her"

or gave anything of real value to Mankind, unless you count little white gadgets as being of any particular value to mankind in the long term.
If Steve Jobs didn't give anything of real value to mankind, then neither did Thomas Edison or Philo Farnsworth or Percy Spencer or Braun or Marconi or Jimmy Wales.

He wasn't just a 'tech company CEO', just like Bill Gates wasn't - they were both inventors and innovators.

But guess whats the difference was between them years later huh?

I do think we are currently see Apple's peak as we speak. The rot is starting to settle into the products, people are still buying them in buckets but in a few short years it's going to fail big time

One died and the other decided to buy his way out of the ******* reputation he'd made for himself and make himself slightly more important in history by doing charity work?

I don't recall Gates ever having that kind of reputation, Jobs on the other hand its well documented he could be a total ******** to work with.

Didn't take long for this thread to be derailed.
