Hi, I have a P4 2.93 GHz chip in a Foxcnn Ei307 it is only used for internet work I need a new PSU. Can anyone tell me which one or what is the requirements to power it. Thanks

i still wouldnt go for that. get a good branded psu like the ocz or the corsair ones linked above

what purpose will it serve it p4 chip unless he wanted to upgrade other parts and reuse the psu,

it cant be a shockingly bad psu or why would ocuk want there name on it.

Problem with cheap PSU's is they often cant maintain a stable voltage and can course all sorts of stability issues and perhaps eventually go pop and take out the whole system.

would lower the risk of psu blowin and taking the rest of the parts with it by a lot. and even tho it is a older cpu. he wont want to buy a new pc, because of skimping on the psu. the advice "never skimp on psu" is always given on here. better to spend £20 more on a better branded one than risk having to spend a lot more on a new pc

fair point. seems silly for ocuk to sell if everyone seem's to think there so shockingly bad.

i will agree with you tho as i know you give great advice

I know, they try to make a variety of components for all price ranges, but me doing recommendations I prefer going after more a quality brand.
