Just reheated last nights takeaway

That sounds a bit tight, lol

Would you still eat it if you knew a great egg laying blue bottle had been bathing in it all night?

It is tight, and I know this. I don't care though :p.

Wouldn't care if it that same fly had been crawling on **** to be fair. If anything, it's probably made me have a particularly good immune system. I can't remember the last time I actually got sick, it has been years.

Reheating it more than once is really just not advised because it can deform the food and flavor.

All the recent scares about rice getting heat resistant spores and toxins is a load of BS, I've eaten rice all my life reheating it days after it was first cook and never got sick. Its like pseudo cooks who are trying to sound clever when they've probably never even examined rice under a microscope.

Even if bacteria does get inside the spores, its not going to replicate so fast if its stored in the fridge / freezer. Refrigerated rice is probably good for around 4-7 days, frozen for up to a few months.

I dunno, this just made me crack up just now :)

+1

Most you'll get is an upset stomach and liquid poop, which is actually good for you as it clears out your bowels.

??...not sure what can be said to somone that thinks that.

Anyway the likelihood the rice contains the specific pathogens to create the affecting bacteria are slim, but do carry a higher risk.

And you do not just get the runs etc from this, you get pretty much full on food poisoning, server sickness, loss of fluids and all that comes with it, and will usually last up to a week.
If you JUST have the runs, its a crap diet you have.

People get this eating from their regular places as well, not one off times.
And can tell you, it only take it once for it to happen and your scarred for life.

I've never had full food poisoning from Asian takeaway food, the worst I've had is stomach cramps and my bowels full of napalm.

I enjoy takeaway food eaten the next day.

.....but not rice. re-heated taste/texture is awful.

I just cook fresh rice takes 10mins sieve and leave to stand covered for 5 mins.

In fact I have stopped ordering takeaway rice altogether and just cook it myself.

Pfft before you pass out drunk you should sit your takeaway of choice on a suitable radiator to keep it warm for you :). Stick your irn bru outside on the windowsill and you have a perfect Scottish student breakfast when you awake from your drunken stupor

Done the above many times in my younger days and still alive to tell the tale
