Probably the 2.2 diesel 2006 ish

Any advice / opinions?

Drove the 1.4 vtec today and thought I would like a bit more power but really liked the car

Was also considering a focus but the missus has said no

Go for ES or EX as they have moor gadgets !

I went for the SE then discovered it doesn't have cruise control - I don't give a damn about sat-nav as that's a non issue but I really miss CC

I'm looking at the 2.2 diesel . Some have sun roofs to which looks super nice! Anyone know what models have these?

Good cars, but boring.

Also, was dissapointed in how poorly put together the one we had was.

Which sounds like its contradictory but it isn't, handling, economy, performance.... All fine.

Niggly things dropping off and stopping working and annoying the absolute joe **** out of me, not so much.

The 1.8 petrol is pretty crap in all honesty, begs to be ragged but has zero to offer if you do take it by the scruff of the neck - if you want petrol buy a type R or you'll regret it.

Other than that mine has been fine - great spec, very practical, reliable enough though parts are nit cheap and my own one feels very well put together, though I have read reports like the above so this may vary by car

Diesel clutch is an issue but buy a car from 2010 on or with the 2010 clutch ans standard map ans you're laughing
