Forza Horizon?

They are both open world racing games out in the same release period (run up to xmas). They will be competing for sales so its a fair comment to say you would pick one over the other come release.

They're both open world racers, I'm guessing as Forza Horizon is nowhere near as "hardcore" as the main Forza series then it'll be aiming to bring in more of the casual gaming crowd, the same type of people that just want a simple blast around an open world without having to worry about complicated car setups and physics.

They're open world racers, I'm not contesting that. The physics are still there (if toned down a little) according to my FM4 playing mates that have had a look at the final code.

I'm probably not the target market, already being invested into the series.

Its a gateway game to get new players to buy into the Forza brand, therefore its probably going to be more accessible in its execution. This may not be a bad thing though.

Out on the road, Horizon will remind you of Criterion’s Need for Speed and Burnout games – and that’s not a bad thing. Speed cameras challenge you to post the fastest average time through a select stretch of asphalt, while you’ll earn popularity (the game’s currency) by driving stylishly, i.e. drafting, drifting, near-misses, etc. And while you drive, you’ll have three stations hand-curated by noted British DJ Rob da Bank: an electronic channel, a rock station, and an indie playlist. It’s a total of 60 songs and five hours’ worth of music, though you can of course turn it off if you wish.

Sure, it’s built off of the same gorgeous, finely tuned graphics and physics engines. That means it’s got the same stunning cockpit views, vistas, and handling physics.

Which might mean us gamers get something a bit fresher from the Forza series in its 5th outing, this is a good thing. :)

Just watched the behind the scenes clip. Not been keeping track of this game up until now - but I think I'll start.

That looks awesome! Although I do hope in multiplayer we'll be able to do races with AI cars off as they'll get annoying should we want something more serious!

Always loved TDU so having something with a similar open world with far more enjoyable car physics and tuning is going to be fantastic. Plus the day/night cycle is going to make it look sweet!

Going to have to get another gold sub!

Can't wait to go exploring the scenery with the csr.

thats probably the biggest reason for me getting horizon, exploring and checking out the scenery through cockpit view......especially at sunset. just hope theres a feature in regards to time control like there is in burnout paradise, dont want that sunset disapearing in a few minutes.

i have pwts and csp's by the way

I can't believe some people still have rose tinted specs on so much that they can't actually read and understand why two games are very similar :o.

Either that or they have the reading ability of a two year old.

I can't believe how some people have such an open mind that two games with cars in must be very similar.

They'll be telling me next how I should just play Pole Position on the Atari 2600 as it's similar.
