its coming up to 2 yrs now that ive been using this ...i think you get a 2 yr warranty so my plan was to buy another one around this time...in case of any problems....what do you guys think...od has anyone experienced problems after the 2 yrs or are they safe to still use beyond this period.....

Most graphics cards only have a 3 year warranty, many are still safe to use after 10 :)

Presuming you have a decent motherboard, your computer should shut down if it gets ridiculously hot and I don't imagine that the cooler will be designed to fail as soon as the warranty ends :p

Big difference though, the graphics card will not leak fluid everywhere and apart from the fan, has no moving parts :)

True, but the fan/cooler is one of the things that's most likely to go faulty on a card (kept at stock) which is why I chose it as an example :p

Also, the chances of a leak erupting in a AIO cooler after 2 years is stupidly low if it has been treated well. No reason at all for it to fail, it's not going through any pressure changes, it isn't continuously being moved. The only likely failure id of the pump

Pretty sure standard Corsair warranty is 5 years over the hydro coolers??

Like space monkey said though, I'd be cautious, it wouldn't hurt to buy a £25 air cooler to keep as a spare, the hydro coolers can develop faults over night.

Edit: Also you're on X79, X79 deserves full custom water ;)

+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 to all of that

TBH, anything that has moving parts and is necessary for the functionality of your computer you should keep a spare of (IMO)

I think a graphics card is different as you can hear that working on boot and its easy to monitor as is processor through desktop apps...as space money said its the fluid Leaking that worries me more than anything else .....full custom water system to be honest never fancied messing about with one of them may be in the future when i get more time and space to play with it ...

Leaks on the hydro coolers is IMO uncommon, its far more likely the pump will start to fail before it leaks. If your paranoia gets the better of you, just grab a torch and have a good look around the pipes once or month or so.

lol paranoia i like it ....but experience fluid and electricity dont get along lol...probably why i am paranoid.....

Your more likely to cause or introduce a problem by changing the cooler. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I would imagine a pump failure before you got a leak.

Like others have said, your computer should shut itself off if temps get too high.

I noticed a programme like core temp can be set to also do the same thing for double piece of mind!

Anyone - worst case scenario - house insurance claim??

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that if corsair AIO coolers leak due to manufacturing faults they replace your stuff, may have been a one off though

I've heard the same thing mate.

I would certainly expect so, especially within warranty period.

Would obviously need all invoices etc to prove I would assume.

Failing that - house insurance. :)
