Give up your employment rights.

I read that earlier.

It seems totally barmy to me, even considering the pay off you can get, the rights you give up are just stupid.

I think he is trying to make him self unelectable...

This is the tory party in a nutshell, delusion and lunacy by the bucket load.

Seriously,we need to get rid of ALL those numptys.

They just don't have a clue....

It's for small to medium fast growing companies.
You give up some rights and in return you own shares and thus have a say in the company.
Need a bit more detail rather than a headline quote.
It's also totally volutrrary.

It sounds a bit like the ESOP system in America.

well i'm sure it's perfect for small start up companies where the owners are also the employees...oh wait doesn't this sort of benefit the rich? should have known...

I'd rather work at Asda / Sainburys / Tesco on minimum wage (though they pay a little more) due to how good they are as employers rather than work elsewhere with no rights ... unless it was a temporary contract and paid like 10x as much.

some rights? Arguably some of the most important related to work.

It's not like they are saying give up your right to a 15 minute break they are saying to give up unfair dismissal, redundancy and training rights and also the right to ask for flexible working.

lol if you give up your employment rights then you become a slave, exactly what the tories want a working class of slaves to make them and their mates richer

Even with this I'd rather have the Cons in than Labour, which currently fill me with apprehension and dread. Next general election we should keep the Blues in and see what the Reds can bring to the table the election after.

Couple of days ago I signed a petition demanding government not to close A&E departments of some local hospitals in west london.

I asked the guy who was holding the petition as to why is this happening as this is very serious issue. He responded by saying that tories are bunch of playboys who have no idea about ground realities of this country. They are doing as they please. I just couldn't stop smiling :D

So? It's voluntary ...

What does that mean exactly? Would employees not be given training in future? Its already pretty bad for young people trying to break into job market without much experience.

But to even offer this as an idea is silly, they make a big song and dance about human rights, but then say we'll give people the option to sellout their working rights.

Just doesn't seem right to me that this sort of thing is even thought of as a good idea, just leaves it open to abuse and people being able to be fired on the spot and having no recourse on the employer.

I thought exactly the same thing, does it mean you don't expect to get any training? If that's so how are you supposed to progress and grow within the company if you are not going to get any training.

The devil is in the detail as they say but on the face of it this looks like a pretty stupid idea expect in some very rare circumstances.
