1 day car insurance help

Hey guys.

Got a chance to get the car photographed with a vulcan bomber on saturday but need a days insurance (still got tax).

So far i've tried tempcover and ecar and both want £50-£52

Anyone know a cheaper insurer?.

Car is a 1997 nissan s14a.

Or, take out a normal policy and cancel it after the first day?

i may be wrong but i thought it was now illeagal to have a taxed car without insurance. my understanding was it must be insured or must be sorn?

It cannot be both.

If it's SORN it has no tax, if it has tax, it's not SORN.

Eh, its got tax till the end of october, i took it off the road last month and swapped my insurance to another car.

The sx has no insurance but has a tax disk in the window for 31st oct.

And its sorn, whats the problem?.

are you insured on another vehicle? if so just add it to that policy for a few days.

The tax disc becomes invalid once your SORN the car. You will need to refund the remaining tax or loose it and get a new tax disc from the start of the month.

i'm not trying to be a dick just trying to help you not fall foul of laws that only seem to affect non-criminals....
If you have made a SORN declaration your tax disk is invalid and you should have surrendered it with the SORN application. If you drive your car on the road now you will technically be driving without tax and could risk having the car seized.

Pretty sure none of the day insure companies will cover modified cars anyway so bad luck.

this, it's not like the ld days when you can get a tax disc and get a insurance certificate and then just cancel and use it to get by.

everythings electronic, police scanners will sit by the rad and read plates and stop any vehicles that have no tax and no insurance.
