Dede and Santana are the two I use, and they're aweome. Quick, strong, and seem to play very well together.

For my La Liga side I use Essien as CDM, converted from CM. His work rate, strength and interceptions make him ideal as CDM for me, though you may prefer someone who doesn't have a high attacking work rate. Toulalan is pretty cheap at CDM, you can pick him up for less than 1000 coins.
 
The amount of teams I've played against that do either;
- RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN, Score! RUN, RUN, RUN, MISSED! (lol)
- Pass straight to the wings and cross it in.

It's just so boring to watch and play against, I dont get it. Are they just 14yr old kids that don't know what a good game of football looks like? Or am I on my own here?

The best thing is my defending is improving now I know that I should be pressing O and not X to tackle lol

We (being me and the bro) beat a full 87+ 100k+ team last night 6-4 (including an own goal on his part). That was THE HARDEST game we've played.. mentally draining. Happy at the end of it though :)

I've also had free kicks given against me for my player going to take a shot and my opponent running into me, making it look like I've kicked their player even though I had possession of the ball and just pressed shoot. There's been so many times where the ref has broken up my attacks by standing in stupid places, standing in front of my passer or standing in front of the intended recipient and not moving. It's a joke.

Theres def some things in this game that are scripted. The ball should be 100% dynamic.

Yep there is so much scripted crap on this game it's annoying. I love when they're on the attack and you tackle them just for the ball to go to them everytime or when you try passing it out and it rolls straight to them. It happens way to much for it not to be scripted.

I dont use UT or have a clue what its about, i just want to go on when i get a free hour and lose online against a random :p

Probably would be a good idea but think it was already decided no for some reason.

The update you got was just to update squads and formations etc they do it from time to time, they changed Sturridge from RW to ST at Chelsea for instance.
 
i have some players who have chemistry 9 but dont have the right formation - does this do anything bad for the player?

also i have a dm playing in cm spot with chem 9 - is this bad ?

Ah i see thought so, there default formation changed too. Was just curious as to what other changes were made and thought EA might release notes :)

Mata and Hazard are now both 86, im sure Hazard was an 87 before too ...

It was decided that havign 2 threads was too confusing.. and that there would hardly be a FIFA 13 thread without us all on here moaning about UT :p

What the hell is UT, am i right in thinking you all buy a squad and then you can play each other online?

Ultimate Team! Build your own squad how you see fit and play in Tournaments and a Season (rising and falling through the divisions).

I've not touched anything else in Fifa13 yet. And probably wont.
 
I've not touched anything else either really. I had a few games of h2h just to try out a few formations. I tried the career but the simulation between games is just painfully slow.
 
Do you have to buy these packs with real cash then?. How much does the average person spend to build up a decent team.

No, you can buy with coins too, which you can earn by playing games, winning tournaments / leagues or just by trading.

I think it's a necessity to spend a little bit of money to gain a starting foothold. Just don't do a Robert and spend 100's on packs.
