Akasa Venom + Asus Maximus V Gene Mobo

He says on the motherboard, the connection is 4 squares, but on his psu connection it's not, and he's saying it doesnt fit, it just pops out.

 
Oh so his motherboard is only a 4pin and he has a 4/4 pin?
Has he tried the other 4 pin? And how hard does he push the cable in?
 
Nah the motherboard is an 8pin connection, he just says that he cant push one of the 4pin connections in as they are different shapes, maybe hes just being a noob lol.

Nope that mobo is an 8 pin.

OP's friend must either be putting them in incorrectly or they are borked.

Out of curiosity, he's not trying to plug in one of the PCi power plugs into it?

Theres a first time for everything ;)

On that pic one of the pins on the 4pin (bottom left, right hand side) is square unlike the others. Check the 4 corners of the CPU slot to see if there is anyone that matches up?

Also he hasnt tried to put it in upside down?

nope he isnt, on this psu, the only cables not modular are the 20+4pin and the 4+4 pin connectors.
