Not sure what boot times have to do with gaming though.
No, it's hyperbol.
W8 is extremely good for gaming, it's got insane boot times.
Despite what you have heard steam and everything else works just fine on it.
I've been using Win8 since it RTM'd via my company account. With the latest updates and drivers all my games run as fast and as smooth as they did with Win7.
Can't argue with the upgrade price of £49.99 (if I recall only available at this price until Jan 2013?), some nice enhancements once you remove a number of the default metro apps and set defaults for photos/music/video files back to photo viewer/media player etc.
And the start screen is no where near as bad as people would have you believe, I actually quite like it now having got used to it. Works quite well as a dashboard for quick info.
Can someone give me a list of 4-5 things Win8 does better than Win7? Doesn't have to be gaming related.
I hope the staff pass your IP and details on to m$, fair enough if you don't like it, then don't use it.
this vista all over again?

Boot times, security, task manager, metro, the way app sharing and. Syncing is built into it, refresh, snap screen, sync settings (either for back up, or across all your systems)
Metro isn't a good thing but the rest sounds cool I guess
Isn't it cheaper directly from Microsoft on release? they're doing an 'upgrade' for like £35 or £40
They will but most are XBLA titles there are about 40 launch titles which use the GFWL replacement called Xbox LIVE For Windows 8.I thought more games would be done on live with windows 8?
