Hey you guys, do you know of any good delivery companies who will pick up a parcel from your house quickly and at a good price?

I'd rather not lug it all the way to the Post Office as I CBA, and the PO is expensive for what you get, IMO.

All of the courier companies will pick up from your house, I've used Hermes a few times as they were the cheapest as I wasn't in any mad rush for it to arrive and they've been spot on.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I need to return a PC monitor so I'll need insurance for about £200. None of the services I've looked at seem to be very clear on whether they insure monitors. E.g. Interparcel just say that monitors under 31 inches are 'restricted cover' items, but don't say what that means.

Restricted usually means they will deliver it but only cover it for loss and not cover it for damage.

Restricted cover probably means they take them but wont insure them if they become damaged. If its a monitor dont skimp on the delivery company - youll regret it...

Most of them don't cover monitors / tv's normaly against damage in transit only loss.
make sure you use lots of bubble wrap.

I've sent a full pc, gpu's and a 40" TV with My Hermes all arrived perfectly

I've used Hermes quite a bit recently as they offer a cheap 3-5 day delivery & someone local collects it.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to take the chance. I need insurance.

I've checked Interparcel and they actually refuse to ship monitors! Parcelmonkey will ship it, but on a no-comp basis, and it's the same with Parcel2go and Parcelforce's website too.

From what I can tell, I don't think any company will pick up a PC monitor and deliver it with insurance.

They will but youll be looking at more traditional couriers (DHL, UPS etc) and with that comes cost and where you might find Parcelforce to be more competitive (as in still expensive :p)
