Hi folks,

My sister in law is currently looking for a car and we found one to suit the bill, however having HPI checked it, we found the following info;

Date of Manufacture = July 2006

Year of registration = April 2009

Now, everything checked out fine with regards to HPI stuff, however, the situation was this when we asked the dealer;

It does not show as an import either.

First owner bought the car and used it in Germany until April 2009 when the last owner owned it up until earlier this month. So 2 owners in total.
Does that sound dodgy at all?? Or is it a fairly common thing?

Thanks in advance!

Is the car left or right hand drive? and what car is it?

If its right hand drive I believe its fairly normal for people in the forces to buy a car when posted in europe in RHD as it saves a fair chunk of money.

If its right hand drive and coming from Germany then I would say it was bought new in Germany by somebody in the forces then imported when they returned back to the UK.

This.

Might be worth less as the book will have German stamps.
If it's significantly cheaper you might as well but for an Avensis you might as well find a UK car.

Not that it really matters, though.
