The last two times i've been through the drive thru, i have been given these with my meal:

I feel like i've gone to KFC. These are not the fantasic BK fries i expected. Is this just a local thing or has anyone else found this?

(PS i havent take any chips out at the time of that photo, that is considered a full serving)

Is that a small? My small portions come much more plentiful at the local BK! I think your branch may have a stingy manager who wants to give less.

Seems like they have changed their fries, pretty sure a while back they had the southern coating type of fries rather than the normal ones.

Makes no difference to me as i prefer the normal coating fries rather than the god awful southern coated fries.

Tbh McD's fries are heavenly though, dont know why they are but they just taste so so nice. KFC and BK fries dont taste half as good imho.

EDIT: size wise they look a little bit less than what i normally get, as mrk said seems like you might have a stingy manager there at your BK.

I stopped liking BK fries years ago when they switched to the "king coating" which is a shame as I really like their burgers.

I prefer KFC fries as they are more "plain" and they are better than McDonalds' fries as they are too thin and not potato-y enough.

As for a portion size, that is a bit of a laugh.

I've given up with BK to be honest, just too many disappointing visits. Not very consistent with their food, sometimes it can be ok, but other times it's terrible. Last time I had a burger which had literally been re-heated in a microwave. McDonalds at least is consistent and cheaper too.

KFC chips are the worst. Its like they just cook them then smother them in chicken grease for the hell of it, resulting in some slimey potato mess

Love the burgers out of BK, hate McD's burgers, hate the fries from BK but can tolerate the fries from Mc'D's, but they have to be piping hot!

Using adjectives like 'fantastic' or 'heavenly' when describing burger chain chips just means you need to eat a better standard of food in general....

I haven't tried those yet but I had heard about it on Facebook. They look like KFC now which isn't a bad thing to me. KFC seem more to have more potato and are boss with bbq sauce.

All Burger King burgers are nuked when "assembled".

The frozen patties go through the cooking machine which is basically 2 large hollowed concrete block with gas burner fired into the them top and bottom with a chain conveyor and additional burners underneath for the flame grilled taste. The buns go on another conveyor on top on the top concrete block and this toasts them.

Both the patty and the bun drop out the other side where they are either stored in a steam cabinet or go straight onto the sandwich board which they are made.

Once they are wrapped they are nuked for a short period before hitting the chute.

out of all the fast food places IMO BK do the best burgers and fries. i prefer the coating on BK fries.

the only thing worth having @ McD's is the donuts and the breakfast stuff. fries are terrible and KFC is the place i eat at when nowhere else is open. the chicken bite things are ok but the rest is ****e. hash brown in a chicken burger? back the **** off! :)

If your KFC fries are coming out as a slimey potato mess covered in chicken grease then I suggest you avoid the KFC like the plague as something is seriously wrong there.

Maccy Ds fries taste great but I also really like the softer more potatoey KFC fries, especially with their gravy. King fries suck - I dont want fries with frikkin batter on them! Take them away.

All BK burgers are reheated in a microwave
