AMD budget build opinions

Is it possible to just add a GFX card to the AMD A8 setup and still get the performance boost?

See my reply to posts up:)

So you can add a cheaper card and "hybrid crossfire" or "dual" it up with the Trinity core.

Or add a faster GFX card and disable the trinity GFX core.

The first board you posted doesn't seem to support 125w CPUs so that would be out of the question for the Phenom.

Is it possible to just add a GFX card to the AMD A8 setup and still get the performance boost?

On the support list it has a 140W TDP processor strangely enough.

Also states the 955, although has it down as a 95W edition, didn't even know there was a 95W edition.

I honestly don't get the compromise on the price.

Consider this ;

That'd be better, if you can't make it on the budget then go for a less CPU to ;

Better gamer by a decent amount due to the 7750, on the i3 3220 build, you could swap the GPU out eventually.

That PSU can take 7850's etc, power usages aren't exactly sky rocketing, you can maintain upgrades on lower PSU's.

That's going to game better.

Thanks guys, you've really helped a lot!

But you're buying a worse system.

Has everyone lost logic? We never suggested GT640's for gaming, now we're suggesting sub GT640 performance?

AMD/Intel aside, a 7750 can be put in the budget and is better than an A8 IGP, a lot better.
That Trinity build you're buying is worse than the AMD and 7750 I spec'ed, gaming wise it'll get kicked around by the 7750 GPU.
