MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III 8pin connection help.

On the MSI 7950 TF3 7970 PCB 8pin, Do I have to use the 6pin to 8pin adapter that comes with the GPU? Or couldn't I just use my 6+2 pin on my PSU for the PCB 8pin on the card ?

I think that's what the 6+2 is for, and is the preferred option.
