Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

Im sure its been mentioned / asked in this thread but how do you manage the raid on this server (without going into boot) as I have it just hidden in my garage and it doesn't have a screen attached etc I just remote on from time to time.....

AMD RAIDXpert is what you want.

Please can someone do me a huge favour by running cpu-z on one of these and screenshotting the MEMORY and SPD tabs for me?

TIA

G

I've just ordered another for my father at £159 delivered.

I'm slightly nervous of the seller so I paid by credit card.. will let you know how I get on.

Edit - Just read back through and I've seen they won't be eligible for cashback. Idiot. Cancelled!

Thanks!

Whilst yours shows it at only 400mhz just like mine (and incorrect).

Yours also shows timings of 6 6 6 15 also like mine (and more than likely incorrect?)

Can anyone explain this please?

Thanks,

Timings probably are right if it is actually running at 800mhz?

Yeah :/

It's 16GB Value Micron (2x8GB) 1333 (PC3-10666) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM CAS 9-9-9-24 1.5V

So I don't get why CPU-Z says 6-6-6-15 at 400mhz

The Microserver will run the memory at 400MHz (or 800MHz if you think of it like that) irrespective of the rated speed of the installed memory. As the memory is running well below it's rated speed the timings can be tighter.

was about to say the same, in all honesty i doubt it would make much difference even if it was running at 1333 in the microserver

Ah ok...so there is nothing wrong with my new memory then? Bit of a bargain in that case for 16GB.

Even though I'm a complete moron as it came with 1GB then I bought 2GB first of all. Then I decided I wanted 4GB instead.... then later I decided I wanted to run an SBS 2008 install on it and that needed 4GB minimum itself so I took the 4GB out and bought 8GB. Now I've gotten greedy and taken the 8GB out and put in 16GB LOL

Such a ****.

That's reassuring though :) Thanks!
