Hi there

Hope you experts can help me?

I bought a new motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V PRO and 16GB of

gskill ARES ] F3-1600C9Q-16GAO

3 days ago it was OK the system booted OK, now when I boot up I get a Red light next to the RAM, it bleeps for a few seconds, according to the manual I should press the MemOK button, located on the motherboard, this will sort out the error ... in a nut shell it does not sort the issue.

The RAM is appears in their Qualified Motherboards List, as seen here:

http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=475

Whats annoying is it worked 3 days ago, but I can't even go to the BIOS as the RED light next to the RAM is always switched on.

I removed all the RAM, got the Red light
I inserted ONLY 4 GB of RAM, got the Red light

Does anyone now what the error is or how I can fix it?

thanks

Hmm the only thing i can suggest is try each stick seperatly. If no joy try each stick in a different slot until youve tried every stick in every slot on its own. This should make sure you dont have a duff stick.

Do you have any other memory to try?

Make sure with one stick your using the furthest slot from the CPU.

I would remove your CPU and inspect the socket for bent pins making sure when you re attach your cooler you do it with even pressure and dont warp the board.

Thanks, the manual says, if you install 1 stick (4gb) it has to be the 2nd bay (near the CPU)
