Hi guys,
lots of freezing and updated bios it said successful now it wont boot at all. just blue screens uber quick upon loading.

so I fear I need a new MB (sucks coz I have not had this a year yet!)

what is the equiv now days? hopefully under £100?
I am running an MSI 560ti twin fozra gpu
i5 2500k cpu , now 16gb of ram after I replaced ram modules thinking that was the cause!
a brand new x-strike aerocool 800W silver PSU.
asus xonar PCI sound card (not express :( )
any help on a new board would be great. not wanting another Gigashyte board after this. so MSI or ASUS? needs to be form factor ATX.
Thanks
Joe

Did you load fail safe defaults after the update?

Did you install windows with the SATA controller set to a different mode than the default setting?

I can still access the bios, and try different updates from a USB stick, and edit all settings. so I have tried fail safe defaults and optimal defaults, and setting hard drives to AHCI/IDE and always without fail... as soon as windows logo comes on screen it blue screens very quick and restarts going into windows repair or start normally option...
I have also taken the battery out of the MB to reset cmos. and it does not help . same symptoms :(
so I need a new board right?
I have been having problems for a while but nothing like this.. before it used to just freeze randomly with buzzing noise from speakers only while playing games! very annoying. I replaced PSU and RAM modules thinking it was them but to no avail. it went through a phase of boot looping withing the first 5 seconds as well. I removed the gpu hoping it was not that , and it still boot looped. replaced ram and put in diff slots and that got fixed.. and left me with freezing games as before...

I hope it is not the CPU as they are expensive, but the cpu was never getting very hot as I monitored it with fanspeed. have very good cooling lots of fans etc. big heat sink (tranquillo)
