Regarding the GTX660TI cards I just noticed this in one of the reviews:

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...roundup-asus-evga-gigabyte-galaxy-msi-21.html

Some of the highly clocked GTX660TI cards, might not perform as well as advertised.

No real surprise there. when Kepler came out I was on of those who mentioned on another forum that Keepler's boost was inconsistent. Basically, Nvidia Boost != Intel Turbo for instance since it seems to throttle down for thermals very quickly. Naturally, Nvidia's PR machine is very clever so the review samples sent out would all perform very well - maybe not 'golden samples' but not 100% representative of what consumers might buy retail.

At the end of the day Boost is overclocking and as always YMMV. Which just goes to show how poor AMD's PR really is: for the 7970 GHz Edition they just sent cards running 1.25V and for the 7950 Boost Edition they just sent out a BIOS which plays it safe and ups the voltage needlessly... Which of course Turned Tahiti's ~20W-40W power disadvantage into a lot more.

At least you went for the GTX670, if you'd have gotten a 660 over an HD7850 i'd have e-slapped you. :p

Stulid - you went from your 570 to the 670 for 1080p gaming?

Yes would really love to hear your feedback and what games you play etc....thinking of moving from my 6970 to either 7970 or 670

What can I say, everything maxed out is not a problem.

The windforce 3X is whisper quiet (the Windforce 2X is also whisper quiet I read in reviews and people in the thread such as Admiral Huddy also confirms)

I play all sorts of games from first person shooters (BF3/Rage/Crysis) to driving games (dirt3 etc) I have recently completed Portal2.

Totally wish I had kept mine in a sense, sold it on some mad ego power trip for the MSI GTX 680 Lightning, then Nvidia come out giving it the big one over no overvolting, so DSR it, didn't fancy overvolt/clocking it and it degrading over time - price wasn't justified anymore.

Tempted to get a Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X 4GB, just so I can play Skyrim with every crazy mod tweaks available, or a 7950 3GB + 3 games for £100 less, but see that many issues with 7950's it's putting me off. :(

Have you tried overclocking it? my first Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X 2GB did about 1290MHz (Boost), my second one I got off Pgi947 did 1350Mhz (Boost) in my old system! :)
