That is going to take some learning. Not a patch on the TDU lap though.

This reminds me so much of PGR2, one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. I have a CSR wheel and I play all my driving games from the incar view, except PGR2 because I found the view too low and because a pad was the only good option, so I used the outside view. And this game looks great from the outside view, it reminds me so much of PGR that I can see myself using the pad quite a lot with it.

I'd be happier if the engine sound changed when going through those tunnels. :/

Yeah that doesn't sound that well on the vid. Hopefully it has something to do with which channel was being recorded. I think on FM4 it is most noticable through the rear speakers when I go through a tunnel.

which view are you talking about? like the view in the video?

game does look nice in that view but im still going to use cockpit, even if i could drive with the outside view i wouldnt because i would be seeing too much of the games beauty and it would stop me from wowing after a short while, beauty of cockpit view is that you only have a small view area and now and again you will get wowed by getting glimpses of some of the stunning scenery while you are enclosed in a cockpit, the sunlight coming through the windshield making the dash a nice orange......id much rather get wowed in small doses, will be a very long time before my wows run out that way

When I use the wheel, of course I will play from the bonnet or incar view. It just looks a lot of fun from the rear view too.

Can't say for definite yet, but one of the reviews did state that as it is open world, the car textures are much flatter and the car sounds more compressed to fit it all into the game.

How are all you guys from the expert zone getting on with the game this weekend?
 
The frame rate has dropped. FM2/3/4 were all rock solid 60fps. FH is 30fps.

T10 said when FM4 was launched that the hardware wasn't powerful enough to do everything they wanted. Weather and time of day would have required a drop to 30fps, which T10 were not prepared to do. That said compare FM2 to FM4 - the extra performance they've wrung out of the same hardware is very impressive.

Exactly, these consoles are really showing their age now, PS3 cant even have the latest Skyrim DLC due to the memory contraints, Which the Xbox is BARELY getting away with, They've hit the cieling of what can be achieved with them now.
Roll on next gen :S
 
Yep, certain online game retail I pre-order with almost always gets the game to me a day, of not 2, early.
Think they are a competitor but they are the ones that offer money off if it doesn't arrive on the day. Usually dispatch on Wednesday afternoons for Friday releases.
 
I want it, but with most the cars i like being DLC/collector content only i don't see much point.

Gonna wait till it's 10£ then throw some points at it.

unless temptation gets to me first lol

Funny you mention that. I pre-ordered mine from the four letter purple store. Got an email today to say its been dispatched. So it could be here Wednesday, more likely Thursday. Knowing my luck it will be here friday. We shall see. :D

i got a email on sunday from the same place, its just headed "your preorder" and just gives me a bill, pretty strange. when i go to my online account it says unshipped.

does yours say shipped in your online account?

Just checked my account online and it does say "shipped". I am very surprised, never had an order shipped from them this early.
 
Just realised i got another email from them on the 18th specifically saying it won't be shipped early amongst other stuff

Dunno where I need to preorder though?
Secondly seeing what cars i will miss out on if i dont get the LCE has annoyed me a bit. But i aint paying 59.99 anyway :(
 
My order has gone from pre-order to processing. I am hopeful that means posted will show up later today with a photo of the package wrapped and ready!

Meh, shipping from tomorrow, delivery Thurs-Fri

Gamestation,

The DLC looks and sounds worth it, but thats if you enjoy the game so far.

i'm still iffy though
