Just wondering if any forum users have ever lost their voice for a prolonged period of time?
Maybe after a wild night out or after a footy match or something similar?

l'm still waiting to get My voice back since saturday :/

A few times after concerts and never more than a day. Never lost it after a game. What did you do on Saturday?

I believe you can infact tear a vocal cord. Also you can get nodules on them if you use your voice a lot, singers are prone to this.

I lost mine for I dunno a week or so starting the last day of a holiday, making getting a cab in Spain to the airport and through the airport a task, then back to school a couple days later with teachers taking attendance all wondering why I wasn't responding.

Was bizarre, up to that point I'd never lost my voice nor seen anyone lose theres, get horse, talk quietly sure, but barely even able to get out the lowest of low whispers.... was odd. First holiday on my own, not fantastic at Spanish anyway and unable to speak... very weird.

I lost mine for 5 months about 10 years ago after a bout of Pneumonia. A speech therapist taught me how to stretch my vocal chords and my voice came back within hours of doing the first lot of exercises.
