Gaming mouse 40-50 quid.

Get the G400.
It’s cheap
Flawless sensor
Reasonably high DPI
Instant DPI changer
Decent warranty
Well shaped for palm users
Comfortable
Wired (That’s a pro for me, maybe not you)
Good scroll wheel

The main disadvantage I would give it is the lack of buttons to customise. The back forward buttons are good enough for me though.

+1, the mouse has best optical sensor on the market.

Looking on the mouse selection OCUK has it seems there is no clear cut choice, wow the market is so flooded these days.

I like the look of the corsair m60, cm storm sentinel, zowie ec1/ec2, epicgear meduza, razer deathadder respawn, steelseries sensei raw, roccat savu, logitech g500, logitech g400 and mionix naos.

Think I'd go with the steelseries sensei raw.

Blimey. Hope that helps :D

Yes that one

I can almost get you a keyboard with that budget too....best of all they are in stock, the G400 isn't ;)

Don’t get a “gaming keyboard” They are useless half the time. Membrane keyboards are not all that compared to proper mechanical keyboards. But they are overpriced as hell.

He might not even need the keyboard. I simply was pointing out what a good price the Ikari is, as I could almost get a half decent keyboard in for that budget too. He can either pocket the cash or get something else other than a keyboard. If he wants to spend more on a mouse that's fine by me

Fair enough.

lol I just realised what Honosuseri said. The G400 not being in stock, so scratch that and get one of the Zowie mice as Eames said. They are great for all types of users.

Also, while I'm here, anyone recommend a mouse mat too? I'm looking for one of those really thin ones that more or less stick to your table.
The Steelseries Qck is meant to be one of or even the best mouse pads

I would also recommend the Ozone mouse pad that I personally picked because of the colour scheme. I got the XT (extra thick edition) but you wanted a thinner one so I’d go for the the medium or large one.

I would still recommend the Steelseries Qck over the Ozone from what I have heard and used.

I have ss ikari laser some were laying around. The mouse is horrible!
Steelseries only make good mousepads. But still i prefer everglide or qpad for mousepads.

Couldn't find the place in time for 5.30pm so I've left it for today. I think I might go for the one hono suggested, I mean he has a good taste in music so his taste in mice should be good too.

:D:D

How does the G400 fair for a lefty like me? Almost all of the higher end designs seem to be moulded for right-handed use.

I thought it was a very fair price for a well received mouse. Of course there are alternatives, just remember.............

Over thinking, over analyzing, separates the body from the mind ;)
