Saw this just now. I can't help but think that it's deliciously ironic that Frankie Boyle is suing somebody (a publication) for saying what they think or want.

Thoughts?

Glad he did. He may be crude, lude and generally not nice but to call him (well his humour, from what Ive heard) racist isn't true. Bloody journalists.

Generally speaking, slander regards communications in a 'transient form' (conversations) whilst libel regards a 'permanent communication'.

Admittedly he pushes boundaries but it does annoy me when people blindly throw around racism accusations. Making jokes that involve race doesn't necessarily mean you're making racist jokes.

being accused of being a racist is a career killer. Certainly makes it tough to work somewhere like the BBC which is publicly funded (for the most part).

You have to fight back against tabloids, otherwise they'll ruin your career. You have to take the stand and keep them in check.
