ipad3 been hacked/taken control of?

Highlighted the part I re-read it and thought what a load of tosh. :D My wifes, uncles, dads, daughters, sons, uncles, aunty's uncle said so.

Lol, are you suggesting it's me, or my boss that has borked the ipad3?

They do have a very 'strange' or should i say 'strained' relationship.

It's a long shot, but it could have been remotely locked by icloud?

Doesn't explain the apps supposedly opening, but could explain it being locked?

I'd bet on the wife being the cause though :D

Can you install VNC or SSH on ipads? If yes, it's possible she could have installed one by mistake and someone did take control remotely, I'm a Linux user and any machines on the Ubuntu forums that get owned, is generally one of the above.

I think you need to stop thinking about it to much, cut to the chaise, does he want you to fix it? Then fix it and tell him your not sure how it could have happened.
I'm sure he won't appreciate being shown up or told that his wife is an idiot, certainly not on this kind of thing.

Mine just makes up explanations for situations he has got himself in, if I pick them apart and prove them wrong I'm the one who ends up in trouble!

Lol, i know what you mean......but it's a business device that he took home and let his kids and wife 'play with'. And i have a limited I.T. budget which i'm quite protective of.
So, if my line of questioning makes him uncomfortable, then tough.
To be fair, he'll just make an understanding  in acknowledgement that his wife and kids shouldn't really have them and he shouldn't really be asking me to sort it, cos they should really be deployed in the business.

This was my first thought.

I would reset the apple ID password ASAP. If someone has got control of this, they could be buying apps with it on another device, which would explain why apps were appearing automatically on the ipad.
