Well, the last analogue signal is switched off in Northern Ireland tonight at 23:30 BST and with it goes Ceefax the worlds first Teletext service.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20032882

I used to rely so much on Ceefax in the days before the World Wide Web was easily available, I think I'll kind of miss it, was a great source for news and Video+ codes :)

It's time is well and truly passed but the ending of an era all the same :(

RIP. I used to have so much fun just missing the page I wanted and having to wait another minute for it to come around :)

I remember rushing home from school and reading every football related story on there. pages 302 and 312 were a must.

I remember trying to read football scores

brb starting on page 3/9
brb MOTD has been on by the time you get back to page 1

Not going to be fun explaining it to the grand kids.

Remember my parents using it to check lottery results and sports scores etc, and it taking ages with it having to go through every number until it reached your 'page'.

Mmmm I remember Teletext, used to get game cheat codes from Digitizer back in the day and play Bamboozle!

I also sent a joke in to the jokes page and it got published :D

In a years time I bet we start hearing nasty rumours about how Ceefax got up to no good every night. I bet the BBC even tried to hide the rumours. Trust me on this, we have more to hear on this story :(

Kids these days, don't know they're born.

I was joking about Ceefax a couple of years back and my Nephew asked what Teletext/Ceefax was, we explained it was like the internet but with **** graphics :D

I have fond memories of playing Bamboozle.

Now and Next page on 606, saved me much time going through the TV mag to find out what was on next.
