First time in Division 1 (online). Won first match and drew second one with my cheapo Italian team which consists of the following:-

Abbiati (GK)

Balzeretti (LB)
Cannini (CB)
Capelli (CB)
Cassani (RB)

Pazienza (CDM)
Padoin (RM)
Dosenna (LM)
Rosina (CAM)

Rocchi (ST)
Iquinta (ST)

Most expensive signings were Balzeretti (1500) and Abbiati (1000), all the others were 500 coins or less. I've not spent any money on packs so I tend to get one or two gold packs a "season" to keep me going!

Latest team, played with it yesterday but with jovetic and matri up front (waiting for some sales). Much more solid than pretty much everything else I've had so far.

Went to a 4321 last night, pretty awesome when attacking, and pretty open for defending but I quite like it :D

Got relegated to division 4 though LOL seems my best approach would be the Keegan style, score one more than them, as I really just can't defend.
 
Right, I have a mate from work who I can't beat very often. :(

All he does is pace abuse a 4-1-2-1-2 with Brazil players.

Best way to combat it?

Not tried it with this team yet but I'm playing with this at the moment...

In my opinion you need some faster centre backs :D

I played against Walcott & Chamberlain last night and found them to be a handful but i managed it with my trusty Stephen Kelly at RB and french LB :D

Don't play fair... play ultra defensive + counter attack.

Also M'bia + Luiz instead of Skrtel + Colo could help.

I haven't noticed that, they seem just about right as the fullbacks seem to overlap ok. I wish Vidal and Rossi could shoot better as they get into some great positions, but they both get back well too.

Not played with Dinatale + Miccoli yet, have Cavani on the bench too.

Going to OT tonight so doubt ill get to play today.
 
Trying to put together a *cheap* 3-5-2 BPL team, ideally under 30k for the entire squad (ie around 20k on the first team), and I'll then swap out players as and when I make more coins. Thoughts on:

Howard

Mbia--Heitinga--Figueroa

Larsson--Garcia--Mikel--Gutierrez

Giggs

Berbatov--Defoe

Quite like Gutierrez as he's got ridiculous work rate/stamina, will get up and back and defend.

Sessegnon...could do, but he sounds like the standard cheap option, gets a bit boring ;). Is there anyone else worth looking at? A bit worried about Giggs's utter lack of pace, but love his passing.

Need someone big up top, most of my play goes down the wings. Quite like Berba as he's big but can also play people in. Is there anyone else worth looking at though?

Yep still on the PS3 - think you are on my FL - if not its polynomial007 - dont expect much, I cant defend for toffee...
