New XBOX Dashboard

The keyboard is qwerty. Works well. Big pictures don't seem to be able to zoom out though, you have to scroll about the picture. Also I forgot to try youtube so I have no idea if it's flash enabled or not.

doesnt have java either.
i only messed with it for a while.
couldnt see how to make bookmarks.

The thing is in 2005 it would have been great but
in 2012 when everything including the cat is internet enabled
i dont really see the point.
 
Yeah i always maintained its day one stuff really.
MS really had no idea what direction theyw ere going in with the xbox os and basically went back on everything they said.
Which is a shame because I fell it has tainted the grateness of the console from a historical standpoint
 
When you commit to producing a console - both its hardware and OS - at any point in time, I imagine it would be very hard to predict where technology (and consumers expectations) would be 8 years into the future. Nothing is future proof.

I've owned almost every console that has been released in the UK over the past 20 years and for what the 360 gives me I'd put it right up there as one of the greatest, if not the greatest that I have ever owned.

I imagine in another 8 years we'll be discussing the frailties of the soon(ish) to be released PS4 and MS consoles.
 
No I agree for sure.

I just think the current os is a massive afterthought.
You can very easily miss the arrival of new dlc /demos /deal etc with it.
And its pretty clunky.

I hope the update improves that
 
I've had this a few days. I wondered why there wasnt a thread on it then.

I dont like it. I couldnt find the THQ sale the other day and to get to the normal games sale I had to go searching through a couple of tabs. Havent really seen anything I regard as an improvement yet.
 
I don't find any of it as quick to use as the old blades. Even on the last one it would take ages to find anything. Most of the time I still find things faster hitting the guide button and finding it old school ;)

The whole interface is a complete mess.
