We have a 15 month old dachshund (standard) and feed her this

But would like to change as she been on it constantly since we got her. Our vet suggested its very boring to be on the same food source, so best to change it every so often, then a pet emergency came in so I didn't get a chance to discuss his range of brands, so out of interest what do you feed yours and why?

Cheers

Mine has Wagg dry food mixed with Tesco dog food in gravy. She gets bored of it every so often, so she then goes onto Pedigree Chum, then gets bored, rinse and repeat.

She loves it when she doesn't get bored of it :p

Well my mum owns a pet shop so the family pet changes his food quite often :D

She recommends, James WellBeloved and Burns. She says Burns and Orijen are the best :)

Whiskas and so on are quite bad and not healthy or natural like the others but she stocks it for people who don't listen to her advice :p

tesco dog food + left overs
for some reason it will eat the left overs first and eat the dog food only as a last resort

Wag worker for my two spanlabs. They usually get an alternation between chicken and beef every time they need more!

Over the years they have been on all sorts, wainrights, ukenuba, pedigree and they never really manage well on any of it. I tried wag on the recommendation of a local game keeper and never looked back.

James Wellbeloved wet food and Hills Science dry food,
Chicken, Beef, Lamb, Quorn, Soup
all seem to suit our 16y/o Yorkies

Them big sacks of Pedigree chum, dry mix, about £25-£30 a bag. He certainly isn't bored of it as it doesn't touch the sides when he inhales his food lol

Exactly like my dog! My dog eats more or less anything. If my dog doesn't want to eat something all I have to do is pretend to eat a bit (i.e. hold it about an inch from my mouth and then do a chewing action) and my dog can't get enough. Just something about being like a human and being treated like an equal I guess. The only thing she'll never eat is cucumber, haven't a clue why, she even eats lettace :p She adores chocolate too, I share a Kit-Kat with her every day, one finger each :)

My dog died earlier this year, however he was on Orijen senior.

Apart from the RAW / BARF diet, it is the best of the dry foods - The only one which is human consumption grade and not bulked up with ash and wheat/grain - which should not be in a canine diet.

Even the other "premium" brands like Arden Grange, James Wellbeloved etc are slowly getting worse in terms of content after the big boys have bought out the smaller manufacturers.

My dog has just turned 7, since a pup he's had nothing but Hill's science plan, large breed, chicken flavour. I once bought a bag of Royale Canine but he didn't seem too keen on it so went back to the Hills.

used to feed my dogs Wag, Pedigree etc...but their stomachs did not agree with it ;) and their coats were very dry and unglossy.
i met a breeder at a show and he recommended me to CSJ dog food.

i could tell the difference almost straight away, my dogs loved it, and within a couple of weeks u could see the difference in them, more active, better stools, much glossier coats ets...
u wont find these in shops, but there is usually a stockist near you, just check their website above

edit
oh and dont forget to phase the new food slowly or it can go straight through them :D
i will do 75% old, 25% new for 2-3 days
50% old, 50% new for the next 2-3 days
75% new, 25% old for another 2-3 days
so after 1 week they are on the new food completely
