one for the parents i suppose. what are your feelings on this?

upon reading the title, i suppose it seems like a good idea in a 'sign of the times' kind of way.

that is until, one views the content. “Many of the topics covered are totally unnecessary and positively unhelpful. Young people - and older people for that matter - simply don't need a 'sextionary' containing an A-Z of all manner of sexual practices and perversions.

Great idea, we need to be a lot more open about sex in this country. Currently it's a national embarrassment, and thus children often don't feel comfortable talking to their parents about sex and vice versa. As for the 'sextionary', this is exactly what young guys and girls want to read. They find the words funny. It's highly likely that by including that then it'll attract people to look at the 'app' and then go deeper into it and learn about safe sex, STD prevention, pregnancy and things like that.

We need to acknowledge that children are having sex, and if they want to do so then they will - we can't stop that. Thus, we need to ensure they have easy (and free) access to condoms and a mature adult to talk about if need be. Instead, many kids are having unsafe sex, in bushes, and risking their health and future prospect and are then screwed up by the emotions that sex brings with it and are unable to deal with them because they are scared that they will be punished if they speak to their parents.

FWIW - I'm not a parent, but started having sex at a young age. My parents knew that I was having sex, and whilst they weren't particularly happy about it they understood that it was a choice I made and would do with or without their blessing. Thankfully, they provided me and my girlfriends with condoms and were always willing to talk/listen about any issues.

I remember being 13. Almost all of myself and my fellow 13 year olds would have put such thing to great use as a source of something to giggle at whilst only really half understanding what we were actually laughing at... the ones who were in a position to say 'hmm, good idea, I'll try this with my 20 year old boyfriend tonight' are already beyond the culpability of some apps influence upon them.

That's a quote from the director of an organisation which actively campaigns against what they call "the permissive society".

Had a browse, seems ok. Going by the language of most secondary school students, they know most of it already.

i'm not agreeing with him. i just don't believe this app is necessary though this is coming from someone who learnt by watching stag on an amiga when i was 12 :o

The more they know the better informed they are rather than listening to friends about urban myths, cling film is not a replacement for a condom and such.

If they got it in their minds to try anal then they need to know to lubricate!

Spit n jab always worked for me tbh Occasionally a drizzle of olive oil to bring out the flavor.
