Three years in Adelaide

Nice pics Evangelion, my brother and sis in law spent almost 2 yrs in Adelaide and have now moved to Brisbane. They found Adelaide far too boring for their liking though, they have been in Brisbane for almost 2 yrs now and i spent a few weeks there back in Sept this year and have to say i absolutely loved my time there.

Such a beautiful country, spent most of my time on the beach jetskiing and other water related activities.

Looking forward to going back there soon but this time for a lot longer.

Thanks mate. Adelaide is definitely not the spot that's hot to trot. It feels more like a big country town, which is one of the reasons we like it. Good place to raise kids. :)

What kind of snake was it?

Just a local non-venomous species, commonly known as a chicken snake. I didn't know this at the time. In Australia you naturally assume all snakes are venomous and deadly until proven otherwise.

We have relatives living in Adelaide. We visited them in 1970-71 for around three months, when I was 10 years old.

I still remember it as one of the best experiences of my life.

They live at Christies Beach. I had a look around on Google street view recently, and it's certainly changed a lot in the last 40+ years.

Have you ever been out that way Evangelion?

I've been to Port Noarlunga, but not Christies Beach itself. Some beautiful scenery down there, though it has changed a lot as you say.

:)

Awesome pictures! Pleased everything is going so well for you Evangelion! :)

The pups are massive! The house and garden look awesome too!

Also; how're you coping with the bugs? :( and did you see much of Texas? It's on my 'to visit' list.

Thanks mate! :)

Summer is just around the corner, so it's not 'bug' season just yet. Having said that, we cope pretty well. Flyscreen on all the windows is a huge bonus.

I didn't see much of Texas at all; just Sidney and Comanche. It was a great experience, though not without a degree of culture shock. Some of the attitudes over there are pretty bizarre.

:D

You're going to have to explain some of these 'bizarre' attitudes :o

You're going to have to explain some of these 'bizarre' attitudes :o

'The government should not provide welfare. That's the job of the church.' (what is this i dont even...)

'Guns don't kill people. People kill people.' (Sure, but I can't help noticing the huge amount of people killing people with guns...)

'We don't send our kids to a government school, where they'll be brainwashed. We homeschool them instead, to ensure they're only exposed to our values.'

'We don't want government healthcare.' (Bear in mind this is a country where 30% of bankruptcies are caused by medical bills - and that figure includes people who actually have private health insurance).

'An armed society is a polite society.' (Er... no, an armed society is a paranoid, insecure society, and an armed, paranoid, insecure society is a society with a high rate of unnecessary gun-related deaths. QED!)

'Let's put God back into America!' (This was on a huge billboard outside a local residence. I couldn't help wondering if anyone has asked God if He was ever in America in the first place, or even if He's interested in visiting ).

Seriously man, it's a different world over there. Americans are lovely people, but there is something catastrophically wrong with their brains.

Ok, don't rub it in :p

42°C is nothing to be happy about. Trust me on this. :o

Again I post in your yearly thread about your move to Oz, and yet again I cannot believe how fast time flies. It seems like just the other day I done this and it's a year ago. Time just seem to speed up all the time.

Glad it's going well though.

Speak to you in a (seemingly) few weeks time for the 4 year anniversary.
