Realistically you'd need to upgrade the PSU to get a graphics card to work in there.

A 450-500w of a good brand of PSU will be ideal.

As for graphics cards, a GTX 460 would be my choice as it outperforms the 7750 mentioned above by a fair margin. You will most likely have to go to the second hand market for that though.

You may also want to consider upgrading to a core2quad to avoid any CPU bottlenecks

460 too much power

grab a 7850 they use 150w or something use to be £100 for a 1gb version but its £130 now :\

I'd usually agree with you, but he needs a new PSU anyway and a 460 is about half the price of a 7850 so that way both a PSU and GPU should hopefully fit in his budget.

But it will be double hard to find a 460 cheap and in decent condition its soo hard to find good second hand cards.

But yeah tbh the full pc is old i hate dualcores i have one at my mothers with a 260 in it and it cant play **** its totally broken lol.

It may pay to upgrade a compnent at a time. That PSU would be my first choice as you don't want to put new components in just for that to go pop and take your new components with it. The 7770 is a fairly decent card and under £100. The dual core will be fine for now but keep an eye out for a quad core Q6600 or better.

First is the PSU, then GPU and if you can raise the cash, a Q chip. The first 2 will see you gaming nicely though :)

Tbh, the 7770 is a pretty poor buy with a 7850 being only around £20 more and a good 60% better

I wouldn't be happy with it if I am honest but I was trying to be kind on the OPs budget and others have been happy with that card. You just have to turn settings down and away you go.

It's not so much a complaint at the 7770's performance, it's more about its poor value for money. It's like being offered a Lexus for £100 over a Toyota - it's paying a small premium for something considerably better. If 7850s were £150, then there'd be no argument, but the pricing of the two is so similar that you'd be a fool not to go for the 7850

1GB 7850 was £100 last night however the 2GB is now over £160 so its went back up in price.

I paid £150 for mine and they are refunding the postage, my card is now £180 without postage so £190

Its all about timing £40 saving and i got sleeping dogs as it was bundled, perfect timing imo :)

Altogether 3x games, £180 card £10 postage for £150.

Must have been £119 then :P I checked it also as i was buying the 7850 but 1gb vram is crap.

Still its only £10 more again and a much better card, maybe it will drop to £109 in a sale?

Timing is the key on these things.
