I think you should call them if you having an issue with paypal. Maybe they can get it sorted out. With f2p on the horizon, I would imagine a lot of people would want to pay for cartel coins with PP.

Hi all,
I've got a 50 battlemaster sage seer, and I've been levelling a (currently lvl 26) powertech pyro.
My friends just picked this up, and he's started a jedi knight, so I'm gonna start a new character and lvl up with him.
I was thinking of going a smuggler scoundral, purely because I believe it's the least played.
Am I right in thinking that we'll still be able to go through it all together (is it on Coruscant where we'd meet?) and then go on together from there, or would I be best to maybe go a jedi knight, or maybe a consular shadow?
The charactor is initially intended as a (when he's online I'll play this toon), other than that I'll be working on my bounty hunter. But I think i'd also like to try something new, I like the bounty hunter, but prefer the sage (also prefer it on the republic too tbh). So I'd like a class that'll hopefully become my main toon eventually, there's always the chance my mate will jib it off too.
So, summary:
If I go a scoundral will i still be able to go through the games pve with him (i'm pretty sure that this is yes about 99% of the time).
And, are scoundrals any good in pvp (I prefer pvp) or are they naff?

You'll be able to stick with him for most of the story content once you both reach Coruscant. If you went a Jedi Knight as well you'd have to do lots of the class quest stuff separately as it only allows one Knight to progress at a time but that's not an issue if you go Scoundrel.
Well the sad part is if they had announced it in advance and said when they were doing it instead of telling us after it was done, i'd probably have resubbed to try and keep the names. The handling of this server merge/consolidation/whatever they call it has probably lost them a good number of ex-subs that might have returned if they resub only to find characters losing names.

Scoundrels are excellent in PvP as healers and a good part of any team; they are fairly good DPS but were nerfed some time ago so not all that strong.
My guild run with 2 Scoundrel healers for ranked and they are really effective
You can level together from Coruscant (you can do starter worlds a bit too, but no point) - so it'll be fine.

I think they did, they did do tests for the mega servers, can't recall tbh but I swear there was an announcement.

They announced they'd be doing forced transfers of all characters left on origin servers to somewhere, they never said where or that those destination servers would really be "new" servers that reused the names of some of the old ones.
They also never said when until after it was done.
Just a bit annoying since one of the supposed things that determined if you had to rename was if you'd been renamed on the first set of transfer which i was

I saw somebody on the fleet last night, whose name was something like Anea, but the right side of the A was the joined as the left side of the N,
how is that done?
And does the naming facility see it as different to Anea, so you don't have to spend ages trying to come with a unique name, you can just join a couple of letters somewhere of a name you like?

just done a quick google and found the A and the E, so yeah it probably was the A and E.
I thought that there's an option within preferences so both can go in? Or am I mistaken?
Downloading the free trial atm, damn slow tho.
Any tips for a new player any sort of vital tribal law i need to know that isnt really described in the game?
I play as a tactical ground officer and in the ship a escort in sto so i think id like to play something similar in tor, is this possible? Han solo type of character maybe?

Yes there is, but it would be owned by one of you, so if you are at the same point in story, you would have to go and do the mission with him in, then he would have to repeat that mission with you in, if that makes sense.

Never played STO - but they have a smuggler class which is the most like Han Solo - they have 2 advanced classes:
Gun Slinger - Ranged DPS, very good DPS at that - uses cover system
Scoundrel - healer/melee combat and has stealth - great end game healers not popular for end game DPS
BioWare never give dates, but they are testing the F2P Shop on the Test Server at the moment so it could be in the next patch 1.5 which is likely to be November, but that is just theory - they are renown for "soon" timelines.

I resubbed last night and I am glad I did but I dont know how long it will last but I want to give it a chance this time I have a sith inquis at 43 lol
