...or did more of you know about the Jimmy Savile thing before the stuff hit the fan?

I have heard these rumours since the early eighties, he liked young girls, he liked to 'visit' the dead kids in the morgue. etc etc

i asked a couple of people at work the same question, some had not heard of this, and some had,

but one thing stuck out, the ones that knew about it were all in the late thirties/40's and up.

anyone i asked under 35 say, had no idea of this going on.

was this info purely lost in a generation, and part of the reason he got away with it?

was the reason this got so far, was in fact,'it was just the way things were back then'

and 'us' older ones just accepted this?

thoughts please.
 
I'd always heard & thought he was a dirty old git so no I really wasn't that surprised...


I'm just sick of the News broadcasters and publishers banging on about this and other particular "Human Interest" stories that really aren't worth the time and money thats being spent on them.

It's like MJ's death or Miss Middletons privacy scandles all over again just let the idiotic story die FFS update us with developments every now and then just don't turn it into some major damn story when a couple of scentances will do.

I think a lot of people had their suspicions and many people in TV where probably 99% sure of it. They just didn't have the proof.
 
I heard it from my dad back in the 80's. He was in the police and said it was common knowledge but no evidence.

I'm 43.
