Arrrrrggggghhhhh. Earlier on this evening i went onto the lastminute.com website and booked a hotel for 2 nights in York for my family of 4. Entered all my correct details, my card number and then processed my payment. Then this happened ....

They say 'no money has been taken from your account' but it has!

The moneys disappeared from my bank. The hotel have no reservation in my name, lastminute.com say the transaction failed and cannot refund me because the transaction never happened and my bank say the transaction DID happen because they have an authorization code accepting the transaction to lastminute.

I've lost £164.43 and no-one knows where it is. My head hurts, i'm stressed to bits and never EVER using lastminute.com again.

You may well find the transaction will reverse itself shortly. They cannot rob you as the money is somewhere and it cannot just disappear.

I bought a few games on Steam a couple of years ago and the website crashed as I paid. I got the games but the payment did not go till a couple of hours later.

Chill Winston.

The happened to me the other week with Shopto.net I got some games I wanted and there was an error on the payment page just like you had but they had taken the money out of my bank 5 times in the end. It was a simple matter to just phone them and explain my issues and the money was back in my account the same day.

My bank don't want to know because they say the transaction has gone through and they say there is nothing they can do to help me. Lastminute.com says the transaction never went through and say they don't have the money

Hardly OMFG ROBBED!!

Calm down - you bank may well reverse the transaction when you check tomorrow, chill, check tomorrow and see if transaction is still there and then contact bank.

It was a cracking hotel at a bargain price in the center of York. The kids were excited and we were all looking forward to a little break next week. The hotels now fully booked for next week. I need to wait for this £164 to turn up so i can book another hotel. I'm pretty peed off .....

As has been said will just be returned to our account in a few hours, if it's not there by tomorrow just ring the bank back up and they should sort it.

I had this with Game. They said the transaction was declined, bank said it wasn't. They said to give it 48 hours and check again and the funds were back.

Phone bank, explain to them what has happened and ask for a payment dispute to be opened.

They should refund you immediately, and apparently conduct an investigation to ascertain if it was a proper transaction or not. This could result in the payment being re-instated but I've never had it happen. If they do contact you which I doubt they would you email them that picture.

If they don't play ball demand a payment dispute and immediate refund, cite hardship if your accounts with them would allow so, and threaten to remove your account. But actually convince yourself so you can convince them. If it's a decent bank this will not be required.
